WHAT WAS THE RED BULL MESSINA CROSSING?

The Red Bull Messina Crossing was a July 10, 2024, extreme sports event where three-time slacklining world champion Jaan Roose attempted to walked a 3.6-kilometer slackline suspended over 200 meters high across the Strait of Messina between mainland Italy and Sicily.

He fell just 60m before the end of the line, thus not securing the record but effectively still having walked 3540m in the sky.

My role in this project:

Production assistant.

Key Learnings:

Staying focused in challenging situations: The attempt was heavily weather dependent, so the entire team was on stand-by for 10 days before springing into action. I saw and learned from my managers how to keep things together as anticipation and stress levels were rising.
